Anime producer and distributor Right Stuf, Inc. and Nozomi Entertainment are pleased to announce the launch of the official Web site celebrating Osamu Tezuka’s groundbreaking 1963 ASTRO BOY anime series.

At astroboy.rightstuf.com, visitors can view the trailer of this fan favorite, download Astro Boy wallpapers and avatars, and listen to an exclusive interview with Frederik L. Schodt, author of The Astro Boy Essays, about the significance of Dr. Tezuka’s works worldwide, the differences between the Astro Boy manga and its anime adaptations, and Tezuka’s love-hate relationship with his best-known creation.

About ASTRO BOY
The original boy-robot with 100,000 horsepower strength and courage! In the year 2000, Dr. Boynton creates a super-robot in his deceased son’s image. Named Astro Boy, the robot can swim oceans, leap over mountains and even fly into space on his own power. However, Astro Boy can’t replace his son, and Dr. Boynton becomes dissatisfied with the robot and disowns him. Astro Boy is befriended by Dr. Packadermus J. Elefun of the Institute of Science, who guides him through all his adventures. Now, endowed with super strength, rocket-powered flight, a selfless heart and a kind demeanor, Astro Boy fights a never-ending crusade against the forces of evil!

The 104-episode U.S. edition of the 1960s Astro Boy series - which is currently airing on Adult Swim - is available on DVD from Right Stuf and Nozomi Entertainment in two formats: Ultra Collector’s Edition Box Sets containing 52 episodes each (plus extras) and 26-episode Mini-Sets, now found exclusively at Best Buy.
