There STILL Is No Such Thing As A Free Lunch

» News, Industry, Sales | posted by hinatasou on 03/29/2006 [Discuss]

At the beginning of the week pspupdates reported a too-good-to-be-true deal at Amazon.com for a preorder of Sandisk’s new 4 GB memory stick pro duos at the outrageous price of $133.00 (regular retail $279.99) shipping them out on April Fools Day. They quickly sold out becoming the #1 top selling item. The exact same incident happened earlier this year on January 21 when Amazon mistakenly offered the Neon Genesis Evangelion box set for $6.00. Yours truly, hinatasou, broke the news to pspupdates by referencing Amazon’s return e-mail and suggested all orders would be canceled. However, this time Amazon didn’t even bother to send buyers a courtesy e-mail.
