The Breakdown
Hellsing is good to turn to when you need something a little dark. A vampire based anime other than Vampire Hunter D, Blood, etc.
» The Pros
Guess what?! Hellsing is another GONZO work! I really love those people over at GONZO . Anyways, Hellsing is a vampire-based anime, which we fans can't get enough. Looking back at a good vampire anime uhhh... I think the only anime that were famous and about vampires were Vampire Hunter D, Blood: The Last Vampire and Vampire Princess Miyu. Now lets get to the review of the first three episodes.
As you have read (I hope) the synopsis, Hellsing is an actual organization that was created to fight these artificial vampires that disturbed the night. Our main character Arucard is an original vampire that works with the humans to fight these fakes. Aren't vampires supposed to be bad and evil? Well, the story didn't really clearly show why Arucard has sided with Hellsing. I'm predicting it's that he doesn't like the artificial vampires that were being created by ... (unknown yet). Onto the other main character, Seras Victoria, she came into the story as a member of the D-11 group, which was ordered to terminate/investigate the disappearance of the people of a certain town. Well to make a long story short, things went bad and then Seras ended up as a vampire, original vampire that is.
Hellsing's animation on the other hand is of course amazing as always, because of GONZO. There are some really disgusting parts where maggots were pouring out of this vampire's neck after having her head being blown off by the Hellsing crew.
Forget renting first, buy it, I really think it's worth the money, especially the collector's box that I received with volume one.

» The Cons
The amount of time DVDPlanet took to send me my box with DVD 1. Is that a con? I can't really come up with one, I'll be sure to find one in volume 2 - 4.
